his Masters program consists of 20 courses, each worth 3 Credit Hours, and may be completed within a minimum of 30 months. It will be offered on a modular basis (with one course being five day residential) and is designed to equip Christian leaders to be more effective servants of the Lord. Emphasis will be placed on sharpening practical ministry skills rather than providing a foundation for further graduate studies (The Master of Divinity Program is the alternative). .
There are eight courses and twelve electives to choose from a wide range of courses. You can enter the program in any academic year as the eight core courses will be cyclic every two years. Furthermore you can complete some of the core Old Testament/New Testament courses as electives as different books of the bible will be offered in various years. Candidates are required to complete this program within a six-year time limit.
Entry requirements
- Applicants must be born-again and baptised Christians.
- Applicants should preferably be a pastor or a recognised leader of a church of Christian organisation, or at the very least have experience in Christian ministry.
- Applicant must possess either a Bachelor of Theology, a university degree or other equivalent qualification.
M. Min. coursework
- Twenty courses to be completed with the first eight being compulsory:
- Hermeneutics (principles of biblical interpretation)
- Overview of a genre and exegesis of an Old Testament book (e.g. Old Testament Narrative/Genesis, Prophecy/Isaiah, Poetry/Psalms)
- Overview of a genre & exegesis of a New Testament book (e.g. Historical Narrative/Acts, Pauline Theology/Ephesians)
- Christian Doctrine for Today
Electives
Choose twelve of the following courses:

- Homiletics (Preaching skills for different genres)
- Pastoral Theology and Ministry

The student can enrol in any 3-Credit Hour Course being run internally (e.g. if one prefers to do more biblical studies than listed in the core).
You are encouraged to attend the Annual MBS Preaching Conference to upgrade your preaching skills with different genres (In 2011, the theme was Preaching Wisdom by David Cook. The presenter for 2012 is David Jackman from the United Kingdom on 27 & 28 September 2012).
