Dr Jason Lim served at Malaysia Bible Seminary (MBS) for several years before being sent to Europe as a missionary. From 2003, he became the first principal of the COCM Bible College in the United Kingdom, serving there for six years. Upon returning to Malaysia, he was appointed the fourth principal of MBS, a position he held from 2010 to 2014. From 2015 to 2022, he was a research scholar of MBS. In 2023, he was once appointed as the sixth principal of MBS.

In recent years, Dr Jason has published two English Books, including The Trials of the Christians as Resident Aliens and Visiting Strangers in 1 Peter [2005]; and A Commentary on 1 Peter (ATA) [2007]) as well as 7 Chinese books. His recent research focuses on the ancient Silk Roads that connect the Roman Empire with the Far East. He proposes an early arrival of the Gospel in most parts of the world in the first century A.D. and that the Gospel even arrived in China as early as in the 2nd or 3rd century A.D.

To date, Dr Jason has travelled to many cities in Asia and Europe, teaching biblical courses, as well as holding special seminars or meetings.

Rev Dr Tony Lim completed his Master of Theological Studies (M.T.S.) majoring in Spiritual Theology at Regent College, studying under Dr James Houston. During his time in Canada (1989–1990), he served as the interim pastor of the Vancouver Chinese Evangelical Free Church (EFC). Prior to this, he pastored Petaling Jaya EFC from 1983 to 1987, and upon completing his M.T.S., he returned to serve in the same church. In 1997, he was appointed pastor of Emmanuel EFC, where he continues to serve. He was ordained by the Evangelical Free Church of Malaysia in 1998. From 1997 to 2003, he held the position of Vice-Chairman of the National Executive Board of EFC Malaysia, serving the maximum of two terms.

At the national level, Rev Dr Tony has served as a Council Member of MBS and was a board member of the Evangelism Commission of the National Evangelical Christian Fellowship (NECF) Malaysia. This commission was responsible for developing strategy and organizing outreach evangelistic efforts on behalf of Malaysian churches. He is currently a member of NECF Leadership Commission.

Rev Dr Tony’s written contributions include Spirituality and Pastoral Care for the Ordination Council of the EFC of Malaysia (1998). He also contributed to Kairos Magazine with articles such as “Pastoral Care: A Family Systems Approach” (June 2003), “James Houston: The Transforming Friendship” (April 2003), “Blessed are the Weak?” (April 2003), and “Men in the Mirror: Male Reflections on the Grace of God” (June 2002). Additionally, he was a contributing writer on 1 Samuel 17 to 24 for Scripture Union Malaysia’s One Year Devotional Bible Reading (Volume 2).

In regards to international participation, Rev Dr Tony has presented on “Biblical Discipleship” at the 3rd All Asia EFC Conference in Kuala Lumpur (September 2001) and “Challenges Facing the Malaysian Church” at the EFC of America’s 115th Missions Celebration in Minneapolis, USA (October 2002).

Ms Allison Lee has a deep passion for teaching the Bible. Her early experience was teaching in Sunday School as well as ministering to university students and leading adult Bible study groups.  She served in Canaan Lutheran Church, Kajang from 1985 to1992 and was involved in missions and evangelism ministries in Canada and USA from 1999 to 2002.

Rev Dr Barnabas Boon served as the Executive Secretary for OMF Malaysia from 1994 to 1997. From 1997 to 2008, Barnabas worked in the Forest Research Institute of Malaysia, a government department of the Forestry Department as a Research Officer. He was the former Pastor of Hope EFC until July 2011. After finishing his MDiv studies at MBS, he served as an Hon. Chaplain from 2014 until 2020. From 2021 until the present he serves contractually as faculty in the English Department.

Originally from the UK, Rev Dr Paul Thompson trained for ministry twenty years ago with Oak Hill Bible College, London, where he also met his Malaysian wife, Yu Li. After eight years in local church ministry in West London, Paul switched to studying to prepare for future ministry in Malaysia. A MTh in Theology & Hermeneutics and a PhD in New Testament with Union School of Theology in Wales followed. Paul has been teaching for Equip Seminary since 2021, initially online during the pandemic, and in-person since he and his wife relocated to Malaysia in April 2022. Paul teaches New Testament and Theology subjects, and now serves as Equip Seminary’s Academic Dean.


Originally from Australia, Rev Tim Nicholls came to know Christ as a child, before maturing his faith during his university years. Tim now lives in Malaysia and serves as the Lead Pastor of Cross & Crown Church in Penang. He is married to Siew Mun and they have four children. Tim loves Malaysian food, the hot tropical weather, and is learning to speak BM and Mandarin!

Most of all he loves Jesus, and is passionate about seeing people from all nations and all stages of life come to know Christ as their Lord and Saviour and joyfully live for His glory.


Pr Dato’ Dr Daniel Ho holds a Master’s degree in electrical engineering from England, an M.A. from Fuller Theological Seminary, USA and the Doctor of Ministry from Asbury Theological Seminary, USA. He taught engineering in Kuala Lumpur for several years before serving as the founding General Secretary of the National Evangelical Christian Fellowship (NECF) of Malaysia for ten years. NECF is the umbrella body representing all evangelical churches in Malaysia.

He led Damansara Utama Methodist Church (DUMC) in Petaling Jaya since her founding in 1980 with a small team of people. Today the church has over 4,000 people in her weekly meetings. Dr Daniel Ho has spoken in some 40 countries in all six continents and has also contributed to several books and magazines. He is now the Founding Senior Pastor of DUMC having retired as Senior Pastor in May 2016. He and his wife, Doris are grandparents to two grandchildren.

He serves over the years as adviser or on the boards of several organisations such as Malaysia Bible Seminary, Ethics & Research Committee of International Medical University, Orang Asli Economics Cooperative, Family First Foundation Malaysia, Malaysian CARE, Asian Beacon, Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship Malaysia, Gospel to the Poor, Alpha Malaysia, etc.

He has a passion for evangelism and a heart to see revival in the Church and the Church impacting society and the nations for God and His glory.

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Rev Dr Clive Chin is a Chinese-American, who migrated with his family to the United States at the age of ten. He is an ordained minister, having served as a pastor for over 17 years in C&MA and EFCA Chinese churches in the USA.

Formerly, he was Academic Dean and Professor of Theology at Singapore Bible College, and served in teaching positions in Seoul, Chicago, and Singapore for more than 13 years. He holds a PhD in Biblical & Theological Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary, and a PhD in Intercultural Studies from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.

He is the author of The Perception of Christianity as a Rational Religion in Singapore: A Missiological Analysis of Christian Conversion (Pickwick 2017), and Mystical Union and Imitation of Christ: The Two-Dimensional Nature of John Calvin’s Spirituality (Hamilton 2018).

Dr Shin SookGoo continued his research in NT studies and received his Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge in UK. His doctoral research focused on ethics in the Greco-Roman world and more specifically in the Gospel of John. His primary research areas are the Johannine literature and the Synoptic Gospels with special focus on narrative ethics, Christology, and the historical Jesus. He is currently a faculty member of Torch Trinity Graduate University, South Korea. He is married with two sons.

Dr Ng Kam Weng is Research Director of Kairos Research Centre. After his doctoral studies at Cambridge University, United Kingdom, he lectured on New Testament, Systematic Theology, Ethics and Philosophy, and served as Dean of Graduate School at the Malaysia Bible Seminary before assuming his current position at Kairos Research Centre. He was a Fellow at the Centre for the Study of Christianity in Asia (CSCA) at Trinity Theological College, Singapore. He is also a member of the Centre of Theological Inquiry, Princeton, and is with the Faculty of the Doctor of Philosophy Degree Program offered by the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, in collaboration with the Oxford Centre for Religion and Public Life, Oxford, United Kingdom.

Rev Dr Tan Jin Huat currently a theological/Bible teacher at large. He is a seasoned theological educator at two local seminaries (MBS and STM), teaching New Testament, Hermeneutics, and Malaysian Church History. Among his publications are ‘Preacher, Prepare Yourself’, ‘Brookes, The British and Christianity in Sarawak’ and ‘Planting an Indigenous Church: The Case of the BEM.’
